Medieval Times is the third in a series of seven study units and focuses on historical and literary primary sources written from 476 A.D. to 1500. This study unit is designed to cover one semester of study (18 weeks).

The unit unfolds the well-known tales of Charlemagne, chivalry, the Crusades, feudalism, knighthood, adoration of women, the Arthurian romance, and epic poems.

Literature Studied in This Unit:

Some of the finest literature of western culture comes from this period of history. Students read Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Dante's Divine Comedy, Beowulf, and many more adventuresome tales and primary sources of medieval history.
