Greek & Roman Times is the second in a series of seven study units. The study focuses on historical and literary primary sources written from 900 B.C. through 476 A.D. This study unit is designed to cover one semester of study (18 weeks).

History Studied in This Unit:

Greek & Roman Times is a combined study of Greek and Roman cultures and the history and persecution of the early Church.

Literature Studied in This Unit:

The well-known works of this unit are the New Testament, Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, and Virgil's Aeneid. Other readings include Pliny's account of the destruction of Pompey, the historical works of Thucydides, Caesar, Tacitus, Livy, Plutarch's Lives, and St. Augustine's Confessions. Also included is Shakespeare's tragic drama Julius Caesar, based on Plutarch's biography of the famous Roman general.
